About the Copywriter
What makes me qualified for your copywriting job?
Over 20 years of copywriting experinece packaged into one head
I write data-driven texts for humans – clear, concise, no-hype, jargon-free copy that engages, drives action, and converts.
Everything I write is for a purpose – be it to drive traffic to your site, capture leads, get conversions, engage prospects, direct visitors to your sales funnel, or a mix of the above. The aim is always to create copy that delivers actionable results.
I consider myself a to be a pragmatic copywriter. Creativity alone does not deliver results. Analytics and critical thinking, however, do. This is why I primarily rely on analytics and data and only then add creativity to the mix.
My background is firmly rooted in marketing and advertising. I started my professional career almost 20 years ago as a freelance writer providing local advertising agencies with English-Estonian-English translations, adaptations, and transcreations. Since then, I have worked in marketing for the insurance, wholesale, and non-profit sectors; managed an NGO and a guest house; and worked as a Creative Director for two small design agencies. All this adds up to a whole lot of writing for a lot of different industries and clients both in B2B and B2C.
Somewhere along the way, I discovered I valued and loved text the most, as it has the power to make or break a product, brand, or campaign. A story we choose to tell can be engaging and enchanting, but also irrelevant and off-putting. So we must choose wisely.

Thanks for getting right to the point! Unfortunately, there is no single clear answer to that question as I charge per project.
My project rate is a combination of your needs, my time, my experience, and the value I add calculated into a flat fee that we can agree upon before starting. The average hourly rate varies in the range of 35-40 EUR depending on the levels of difficulty of my recent projects. I would say this puts my rates somewhere in the midrange.
Yes, I do. I charge a minimum of 50 EUR.
For the amount, I might be able to deliver a smallish blog post or a well-rounded headline, but not necessarily, as it depends on the subject and project complexity. Get in touch, let’s discuss your requirements, and I will give you a quote for your exact needs.
Yes. Depending on the volume and complexity of the assignment, I require a deposit of 30-50% before starting work. The rest of the balance is due seven days after we have concluded the project. In the case of longer and more complex projects, we will agree upon project milestones, which are followed by payments.
After we have established a working relationship, I will bill all projects after completion.
No, I am not. I have, however, spoken, written, and studied the Queen’s English 😀 since childhood.
I consider myself to be as close to a native English speaker as a non-native English speaker can be. English is also a part of my everyday life at home as my two sons are raised bilingual.
No. These are the only two languages I feel comfortable writing in.
I do have a fairly good spoken and pretty decent written knowledge of Finnish. So should you need Finnish-Estonian or Finnish-English adaptations, localizations, or transcreations, I am more than happy to take on the project.
Tallinn, Estonia, Northern Europe.
I do most of my work remotely by chat, email, phone or video chat, but am always willing to meet if the project requires it and you are located within a reasonable distance. I have a dedicated channel, where we can meet for a video chat, which can be accessed by only a web browser.
I am also willing to travel, provided my expenses and time are compensated. I will quote and bill travel-related costs in advance.
I am highly sceptical of that happening, but I never say never, so you can always ask. If the assignment is something I feel passionate about or if it’s allowing me to develop, there is a chance I’ll do it.
Let me start by stating that in my line of work, any piece of text is a tool designed to help you move towards a set goal. Unlike poets or novelists, the writing that I create is not art and it does not serve any aesthetic purpose. Which does not mean that it can not have an aesthetic aspect to it. It is just very seldom important in itself.
When the text is a tool, then a good copy is a copy that works, as this is how tools are assessed. So it is not important how I, you, or anybody else views or feels the text, as long as it accomplishes the tasks it is created to accomplish. I know – it is pragmatic and kind of sad 🙂
I can. I have no problems with taking an already-written piece of material and copyediting, streamlining, rewriting, or repurposing it to fit your needs and proofreading it. Provided you have the rights to do so, of course.
If you require someone to just proofread your texts, you should be contacting a specialized proofreader, who can most likely offer you better rates and faster turnover.
No, I am Estonian. Estonians do not have a sense of humour.
All joking aside, I might be able to crack a joke or two, but my specialities are mostly irony, sarcasm, dad jokes, and laughing at myself.
